Georgetown's location on IH 35 and State Highway 29 provides convenient access to the four major Texas cities. Upon completion, State Highway 130 will create an alternative north-south route offering access to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the markets from Austin to San Antonio. Georgetown's own Transportation Enhancement Corporation promotes economic development through the distribution of funds for roads, drainage, and transportation system improvements. In addition, cooperation with state, county, and federal agencies allows continued improvement in Georgetown's transportation network.
Besides access to excellent highways and roads, Georgetown enjoys rail and air transportation options. Georgetown Railroad provides direct connections to both Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroads. Georgetown Municipal Airport is a full-service FBO to accommodate business travelers. The main runway is 5,000 feet and can handle most business air traffic including G-4 and Global Express. Overnight tie down spaces, rental car agencies, and a City courtesy car are available.
